The Author

IJ Weir is on a quest to bring the world to kids through books. She believes children should see themselves and peers of all backgrounds in their literary journey.

Inspired by her daughter’s ancestry and Nigerian friends, IJ’s debut book encourages children to discover the people, places, lifestyles, and language of Nigeria.

IJ Weir is a proud Virginia Tech Hokie and lives in Virginia with her husband and daughter.

The Illustrator

Onyinye Nnamdi is a digital illustrator based in Lagos, Nigeria. She has been making art professionally for 5+ years and she is also self taught. Onyinye mostly focuses on character designs and uses storyline to bring her characters to life. She seeks her inspiration from fellow artists, her experiences and her culture and she looks forward to where this wonderful field will take her.
